Sweet and Sour Pork
This oriental recipe is very easy to make and if you like Asian cuisine and the mixture of sweet and salty, you will love it.
INGREDIENTS (4 people):
- 1 Kg (2.2 lbs) of pork tenderloin
- 5 tablespoons soy sauce *
- 1 tablespoon of ginger
- 100 grams (3.5 oz) brown sugar
- 2 cups and a half of chicken broth
- Lemon
* Soy provides all the necessary salt to this preparation, therefore it is not necessary to add more.
We cut the loin into slices a finger thick or into cubes if we are going to eat them with chopsticks.
The meat is then fried in a pan with the soy sauce. When the meat is well browned, it is removed and reserved. The fat left in the pan is not used at all.
In a saucepan we pour half a glass of water and the sugar. Heat with a few drops of lemon and stir until it becomes a dark liquid. Then we add the meat and chicken broth, in addition to the tablespoon of ginger. Let it simmer for half an hour and ready to serve, accompanied by rice or cooked vegetables.
