Çaçik
Çaçik (pronounced cháchik) is the Turkish equivalent of Greek tsatsiki sauce. Like the second, it is prepared with cucumber, yogurt and garlic, although it is always usually eaten as a soup and not as a sauce. It is very refreshing.
INGREDIENTS (4 people)
- 4 Greek type yogurts (around 14 oz)
- 1 cucumber
- half garlic clove
- a teaspoon of salt
- extra virgin olive oil
- fresh dill for garnish (optional)
- 1 liter (5 cups) of very cold water
Peel the cucumber and cut it into very thin slices.
Take a large bowl and pour the yogurts to mix them with a tablespoon of olive oil, the salt and the half clove of garlic that we have previously crushed. Beat vigorously until you get a compact paste.
Then add the cold water little by little, mixing constantly.
It is served as a soup sprinkling the surface with dill if desired.
Remove the garlic clove before to serve.
It can't be easier to do.
