Beer eggs
A very inexpensive starter that has a surprising flavor.
INGREDIENTS (4 people):
- 8 eggs
- 200 grams (7 oz) frozen peas
- 1 beer with alcohol (one cup and a half / 300 ml)
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 bay leaf
- Half a cup of chicken broth (or water, if you don't have one)
- White wheat flour
- Salt
- Extra virgin olive oil
First of all, we cook the eggs for 12 minutes - counting from the moment the water boils - and then we pass them through very cold water so that it is easy to peel them.
In a saucepan over medium heat we pour a generous jet of olive oil and when it is hot we add a clove of garlic to brown it. When it is browned, we remove it and add, passing it through a strainer, a level tablespoon of wheat flour.
When the flour is toasted - it turns brown - the beer, the bay leaf, the chicken broth and the peas are added, rectifying with salt. We leave to do until the liquid reduces to half. At that time we add the eggs, halved, keeping them for about 3 minutes.
You will be surprised by this dish, really tasty.
